adidas - STAR WARS 'SKYWALKER' S.W.
The first three Star Wars adidas 'Characters' makeups vanished in record time from the Crooked Store, but we're hyped to see a shoe we're genuinely feeling, beyond the megabudget associations in the mix for this second drop. Say what you will about this collaboration, but the attention-to-detail is pretty startling. When we heard about the collaboration, the first shoe we thought about was the Sky Walker, an adidas oddity from the archives that alludes to the act of airborne basketball feats rather than Anakin and Luke - think Converse-wearing, high top haircut rocking Kenny "Sky" Walker. Big in Asia at one point, well, heavily covered in the sneaker rags out there five years ago in some pretty ballsy makeups, it's been pretty quiet on the S.W. front. Until now, and despite a rumour years ago, that there was going to be an SMU to coincide with the mediocre conclusion to the Lucasfilm prequels, we'd never seen Skywalker and the Sky Walker meet. Representing for Luke in Snowspeeder and X-Wing piloting mode, orange canvas fabric, and the white stripes and toe panel seem to fit with some of this shoe's eccentric previous incarnations, but the piping, lining and, even the tongue detailing, is pretty accurate to the uniform rocked by Luke. These and the impending AT-AT Forums are our pick of the collection. With that Palitoy-style packaging, we're expecting these to shift fast.
